The Cardiff Market Service Design Programme 2019 is one of eight regional design support pilots being developed through the User-Factor project.
User-Factor leading partner PDR have been working with Cardiff market business owners in recent months and will deliver a two phase programme during 2019.
Phase one of the programme is a collaborative project between all market businesses that will explore the experience of the market as a whole. It aims to:
- Give market business owners the opportunity to have their say on the current challenges in the market and the potential opportunities in moving forward;
- Improve collaboration between businesses and assist in developing a collective purpose;
- Provide a better understanding of what design is to market businesses and how it can offer them value.
To date, designers from PDR and market business owners have discussed the opportunities and obstacles associated with improving the market experience for business owners and visitors. From this discussion, eight challenges were developed, discussed further, and then voted on.
Three challenges were identified as being the most important for market business owners. These challenges provide clear starting points for upcoming workshops in May and June.
Keep updated on our progress in the coming months, when we will explore the future of Cardiff Market.
