The Design Factory (Factoría de Diseño) is a support programme for entrepreneurs and SMEs developed by Innovalia Association as User Factor pilot. We have selected 25 participants through the entire region of The Canary Islands to enhance the connection with their customers with a user-centred approach. Entrepreneurs and SMEs works on their products and services to introduce into their design process, the view of the user as crucial point.

The Design Factory has developed several workshops in Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Palma. First session dealt with contextualization of each project, identifying restrictions, limitations, conditions and trends to, later on, create user profiles with specific needs of their target groups. Second session dealt with how we can modify or create or service or product to improve the user experience. As a result, the participants will have to test with regular customers a new user-centred service or product, and collect feedback or comments that allow the final validation of the service or product.
