Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI – www.spieurope.eu), together with Porto Design Factory (https://www.ipp.pt/inovacao/porto-design-factory), successfully organized the first edition of the Design for Business programme, powered by the USER-FACTOR project. The first edition of this course counted with a total of 12 participants, representing SMEs and start-ups throughout Portugal.
The Design for Business kicked-off on the 15th of April 2020 through an online opening session hosted by SPI and PDF. During this session, the Design for Business programme was presented in detail, namely the three training sessions that were planned for the participants – design thinking tools, agile development methodologies, and lean manufacturing. Furthermore, the mentoring sessions planned under the programme were also detailed.
After the opening event, three training sessions were organized and led by PDF. Each training session was organized online, having a four-hour slot duration. These interactive sessions allowed the participants to learn how to use design strategically, as well as the use of agile and lean manufacturing tools.
A second edition of the Design for Business programme is planned to be organized in the last quarter of 2020.
